Cross Country Takes Part In Carleton’s Running Of The Cows Saturday Posted on September 29th, 2017 by

ST. PETER, Minn. – After two weeks off, the Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams are back in action Saturday at Carleton’s Running of the Cows. The men’s race beings at 10:30 a.m., while the women follow at 11:15 a.m.

The women have been led by Sadie Klug (Sr., Waseca, Minn.) early this season, as she took 16th out of 321 competitors at the St. Olaf Invite two weeks ago with a time of 23:29.1 Olivia Rosenow (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.), Lotus Schifsky (Jr., Prescott, Wis.), Sarah Anderson (So., Roseville, Minn.), and Lydia Hayes (Sr., Decorah, Iowa) have been among the top runners for the Gustie squad as well.

The men’s squad has been paced by Jeremy Gilbertson (Fy., Maple Grove, Minn.) thus far. He took 49th out of 278 with a time of 27:51.8 two weeks ago at St. Olaf. Other top runners for the Gustie men include Andrew Stumbo (Fy., Boone, Iowa), Ben Madigan (Jr., Kohler, Wis.), and Alex Wischnack (Jr., Norwood, Minn.).

Last season at Carleton, the Gustie women took seventh of 15, while the men took second of 14.
