BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Gustavus sophomore Tanner Sonnek (North Mankato, Minn.) continued his outstanding season with his third-straight MIAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Athlete-of-the-Week award. Sonnek’s latest heroics included four first-place finishes in a 189-109 dual meet win at Carleton Friday. His season-best time of 2:06.05 not only gave him a win in the 200-yard breaststroke, but it also broke a Thorpe Pool record. Sonnek added individual wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (57.77) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.15) and contributed to a win in the 200-yard medley relay (1:39.26).
