Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth At College City Challenge Posted on September 25th, 2016 by

HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team earned a fifth place finish out of 13 teams at the College City Challenge after turning in a two-round total of 654. St. Catherine took home the title with a score of 641. McKenzie Swenson (Jr., Buffalo, Minn.) led the Gusties and finished seventh overall, posting scores of 78 and 81 for a total of 159.

Abbie Grevlos (Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) didn’t finish far behind Swenson as she tied for an 11th place finish. Grevlos posted a total score of 161 after turning in a career-best score of 80 saturday, followed up by an 81 sunday.

Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Morgan Bleyhl (Fy., Elk River, Minn.) both tied for 13th place. Meierhenry posted a sunday score of 84 after carding a 78 yesterday, for a total of 162. Bleyhl also turned in a score of 162 after registering scores of 80 and 82, which were career-best scores.

Jessica Nelson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) and Kristen Cash (Fy., Roseville, Minn.) both tied for 20th place with total scores of 165.

Next up the Gusties prepare for the MIAC Championships October 8-10.
