BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Gustavus men’s golfer Chris Captain (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) rose to the occasion while competing against some of the nation’s best with his top-five individual finish at the NCAA DIII Fall Preview in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Captain finished the three-day, 54-hole meet just one-over par, with a three-day total of 217 to sit alone in fifth place. He started with a plus-three 75, and then played spectacularly over the final two rounds with a two-under 70 on Monday and an even-par 72 to close out the round on Sunday. Captain was the top MIAC finisher in the 92-player field, and he helped Gustavus finish in a tie for 13th place as a team.
