Stanczyk boasts a 3.97 GPA, majoring in Spanish and education, and is a key member of the 2016 MIAC regular season and playoff champion Gustavus women’s tennis team. Stanczyk, who transferred to Gustavus from St. Louis University midway through her sophomore season, was honored for the second consecutive season on the MIAC All-Conference singles and doubles teams. The senior captain went 8-9 in singles (5-3 MIAC), primarily playing at the No. 2 spot, and went 17-5 (8-1 MIAC) at the No. 1 doubles position. The Plymouth product holds career records of 42-26 (18-9 MIAC) in singles play and 53-19 (26-3 MIAC) in doubles. Last season, Stanczyk was honored with the MIAC Elite 22 Award, which recognizes the highest GPA among student-athletes participating in the conference championship.

This year’s CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 Team includes three other members of MIAC institutions – Erika Allen of Augsburg (ice hockey), Caroline Kivisto of Bethel (ice hockey), and Emma Paulson of St. Thomas (swimming).

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Stanczyk and the Gusties claimed the MIAC playoff championship last Saturday with a 5-0 win at Carleton, earning the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. Gustavus plays Wheaton in the first round at 4 p.m. today.
