The Eastview product leads Gustavus regular starters with a .395 batting average (10th/MIAC), including 49 hits, 17 runs, 12 doubles, two triples, one home run, and 25 RBI. Chatfield has a slugging percentage of .548 and an on-base percentage of .435. In the outfield, Chatfield has recorded 64 putouts and has not committed an error after starting 16 games in center and 18 in right.

Chatfield has been a key member of a Gustie team attempting to bring the program back to prominence in the MIAC. After sweeping Bethel in the final home series yesterday, the Gusties have a .500 record at 18-18 and are 7-11 in the MIAC. The 18 wins are the most since 2008 and the seven league wins are the most since 2013.

This year’s CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 Team includes six other members of MIAC institutions – Nathan Mathwig, Ben Buerkle, and Willie Doll of Saint Mary’s, Logan Hershey of Saint John’s, Jordan Zoellmer of Carleton, and Tim Carlson of Concordia.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
