Despite missing seven games due to mononucleosis, Johnson was named to the All-Conference squad for the second consecutive year. The 6’0 stretch forward provided Coach Laurie Kelly’s squad with great length on the defensive end and extended the floor on the offensive side of the ball with her ability to shoot from long-range. Johnson finished first on the team in three-point field-goal and free-throw percentage at 44.6 and 81.1 percent, respectively and was second in scoring at 10.9 points per game. The senior captain led the team in scoring in four separate contests and her three-point and free-throw percentages were good for third in the MIAC in both categories. Over the course of her career, the Edina native scored 759 total points and shot 64-of-145 (44.1 percent) from beyond the arc.

Mikayla Miller avoided the "sophomore slump" by leading the Gusties in points, steals, and assists this season.

After posting impressive numbers during her All-MIAC rookie campaign, Miller returns to the All-Conference team for the second consecutive season. The combo guard picked right up from where she left off last year and led the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game, assists at 3.3 per contest, and steals at 2.7 per game. Those numbers put her at fourth, sixth, and second in the conference, respectively. Miller led the team in scoring 19 times and eclipsed the 20-point mark seven times. In addition, the Goodhue product was second on the team in rebounds, grabbing 5.1 per game and led the team in minutes played at 26.9 per contest. She also drastically improved her shooting percentages from the 2014-15 season. Miller shot 44.8 percent from the floor, 39.2 percent from three, and 77.9 percent from the charity stripe this season compared to 38.9 percent, 32.2 percent, and 76.9 percent last year.

Johnson and Miller mark the sixth and seventh Gustie All-Conference selections under the direction of Coach Laurie Kelly who finished her fourth season at the helm of the Gustavus women’s basketball program. The Gusties went 20-7 overall and ended in a tie for second in the conference standings with a league record of 14-4.

The Forest Lake native led the team in rebounds with 5.3 per game and was third in scoring at 9.2 per contest. Her 52.9 percent shooting average from the floor was best on the team and fourth in the entire MIAC, and her ability at the free-throw line caused havoc for defenders down low, as she shot 81.1 percent from the charity stripe.

Other top conference honors were awarded to Kaitlin Langer of St. Thomas as player of the year, St. Catherine’s LaShay Holt as sixth player of the year, and Saint Mary’s Brent Pollari who was named coach of the year in his first season.

As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC also announced the 10th annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for women’s basketball. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the court of competition. Representing Gustavus on this season’s All-MIAC Sportsmanship team is senior Anna Lundquist of Rochester, Minn.
