Women’s Golf In Sixth After Day One Of MIAC Championships Posted on October 3rd, 2015 by

COON RAPIDS, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team sits in sixth place after day one of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship, hosted at Bunker Hills Golf Club. The Gusties collectively shot a 345, which is 21 shots behind the leader Carleton College.

“We need to find a way to get comfortable on the course,” Head Coach Scott Moe said. “We saw a lot of distrust in some shots that led to big numbers. I know tomorrow will be a better day across the board and then we will regroup after the round and get ready for day three, hopefully moving up the board in the process.”

Ellie Brandt (Fy., Wayzata, Minn.) is tied for 12th place with a score of 84 (+12). Chloe Altmann (Sr. Olivia, Minn.) is next with a score of 85 (+13), which has her tied for 19th. Mae Meierhenry (Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) shot an 87 (+15) and is tied for 24th, McKenzie Swenson (So., Buffalo, Minn.) shot an 89 (+17) and is tied for 30th, and Emilie Anderson (Sr., Osceola, Wis.) posted a 91 (+19) and is tied for 40th.

Grace Gilmore of Carleton leads the field with a low score of 76 (+4).

Round two begins at 11:20 a.m. tomorrow.
