Winona, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus gymnastics team suffered a 183.100-172.850 setback at the hands of Winona State University on Tuesday night at the McCown Gymnasium.

Gustavus posted individual event scores of 45.525 on the vault, 40.175 on the uneven parallel bars, 43.250 on the balance beam, and 43.900 on the floor. Winona State scored a 46.300 on the vault, 44.675 on the bars, 45.600 on the beam, and 46.525 on the floor.

Providing Gustavus’s top individual performance of the night was sophomore Alexandra Kopp (Wayzata, Minn.) who scored a 9.375 on the vault for a second place finish. Kopp competed in the all-around where she finished second with a 36.100 after an 8.700 on the bars (5th), an 8.775 on the beam (6th), and a 9.250 on the floor (4th).

Individual event winners from Winona State included Jade Donaldson on the vault (9.400), Olivia Cattelino on the bars (9.350), Cassidy Kleven on the beam (9.375), and Brooke Hiestand on the floor (9.450).

The Gustavus gymnastics team will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 13 when it hosts UW-La Crosse in a dual beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Sponberg Gymnastics Studio. Friday night’s meet against the Eagles is designated as Senior Night as it is the Gusties’ last home event of the 2015 season.
