Granville, Ohio – Gustavus Adophus diver Bennet Woltjer (Kandiyohi, Minn.) competed in the opening day of the NCAA Division III Region One Diving Championships being held Feb. 28 – March 1 at the Trumbull Aquatics Center located on the campus Denison University. In the one-meter (11 dive) competition held on Friday night, Woltjer placed 17th out of 25 competitors with a score of 404.50.
Woltjer earned All-Conference accolades in mid-February for his third place performance on the one-meter board after scoring a 405.75.
Nine individuals on the men’s side will qualify for the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship in Indianapolis, Ind. The men’s three-meter competition is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Live video of the NCAA Division III Diving Regional will be provided on Saturday for both the men’s 3-meter final and the women’s 1-meter final.
