Men’s Hockey Breaks Into USCHO.com Poll At No. 15 Posted on January 27th, 2014 by

St. Peter, Minn. – For the first time this season, the Gustavus Adolphus men’s hockey team has cracked the top 15 of the United States College Hockey Online Division III Men’s Poll.  After receiving votes for several weeks, Gustavus breaks into the USCHO.com poll at No. 15.

The Gusties are coming off a six point sweep over Saint Mary’s in a home-and-homes series last weekend.  Gustavus defeated the Cardinals 4-1 on Friday night in St. Peter, then completed the sweep with a 5-1 victory on Saturday evening in Winona.

Gustavus is unbeaten over its last nine conference games and will head into the weekend ranked first in the MIAC standings with 26 points.  The Gusties are 11-4-3 overall and 8-1-1 in the MIAC.

The Black and Gold will take on Saint John’s University in a critical home-and-home series this weekend.  The Gusties and Johnnies will square off on Friday, Jan. 31 at 8:05 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink before capping off the weekend on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.  Saint John’s ranks fourth in the MIAC with 15 points at 11-6-0 overall and 5-3-0 in the MIAC.
