The Match Up
The Gustavus Adolphus football team will travel to Valley City, N.D. to take on Valley City State University in a non-conference battle on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Gusties will be seeking redemption on Saturday after losing to Valley City State last season on their Homecoming. The Vikings defeated Gustavus by the final score of 16-0 on a drizzly afternoon on Oct. 13.
Both teams enter this weekend hungry for a win, as each are coming off losses last week. The Gusties fell to then-No. 6 St. Thomas 20-12 in St. Peter, while the Vikings lost to Mayville State by the final score of 14-9 in Mayville, N.D. Gustavus comes into Saturday’s contest with an overall record of 3-2 and Valley City State brings an overall record of 4-2.
