Men’s Hockey Travels To St. Norbert With A Trip To Lake Placid On The Line Posted on March 9th, 2012 by

The Gustavus men’s hockey team will travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin to take on St. Norbert College in the quarterfinal round of the 2012 NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey Tournament on Saturday, March 10th.  Drop of the puck is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Community Center.

Eighth-ranked Gustavus earned a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals by way of a 3-1 victory over sixth-ranked Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday night in St. Peter, Minn.  Fifth-ranked St. Norbert, the 2011-12 regular season and playoff champion of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Conference, is in the quarterfinals after defeating St. Thomas 3-1 in its first round match-up on Wednesday night in Green Bay. Gustavus enters Saturday’s contest at 17-6-5 overall, while St. Norbert comes in at 18-5-5.

The winner of Saturday night’s game will earn a trip to Lake Placid, New York, the site of the 2012 NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey Frozen Four.
