Despite scoring season-high 174.925 on Saturday afternoon in Whitewater, Wis. the Gustavus gymnastics team couldn’t keep up with UW-Whitewater who won the dual meet with a team score of 184.100. Women’s Hockey Finishes Regular Season With 7-2 Win Over Saint Ben’s

The Gustavus women’s hockey team capped its impressive 2011-12 regular season campaign with a 7-2 victory over Saint Benedict on Saturday afternoon in St. Cloud, Minn. The Gusties finish the regular season with a 21-2-2 overall record and 16-1-1 mark in the MIAC, while the Blazers end their season at 5-17-3 overall and 3-12-3 in league play.

Second Half Surge Comes Up Short, Women’s Basketball Falls 66-54 To St. Thomas In MIAC Championship

Trailing by 15 points at halftime, the Gustavus women’s basketball team rallied at the onset of the second half and cut the St. Thomas lead to two at the midway point. The Gusties kept it close until the 11th-ranked Tommies capitalized on 7-of-10 free throws late in the game for a 66-54 victory in St. Paul on Saturday afternoon for the MIAC Playoff Championship.

Men’s Tennis Drops ITA Consolation Semifinal Match 6-3 To Pomona-Pitzer

The Gustavus men’s tennis team fell to another nationally ranked squad Saturday in St. Peter, Minn., this time to eighth-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Colleges 6-3 in an ITA National Indoor Consolation Semifinal match. The Gusties fall to 5-4 on the season, while the Sagehens improve to 1-2.

Men’s And Women’s Indoor Track & Field Have Record-Setting Day At Pre-MIAC Meet

The Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams took part in the Pre-MIAC Meet hosted by Macalester College in St. Paul on Friday. Both the Gustie men and women had strong showings at the conference meet precursor setting Macalester indoor and field house records, but the men had an exceptional performance from their top pole vaulter.
