Women’s Indoor Track & Field Competes In Van Nelson Classic Posted on February 11th, 2012 by

Megan Endreson won the weight throw with a distance of 48-9.5 feet.

The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team competed in the Van Nelson Classic on Saturday in St. Cloud, Minn. against a contingent on Division II and III teams.

Haley Kemper (First-year, Prior Lake, Minn.) and Megan Endreson (Senior, Lino Lakes, Minn.) turned in the top performances for the Gustie women with first place finishes in the 400 meter dash and weight throw, respectively. Kemper took the podium in the 400 with a time of 1:01.92 and Endreson won the weight throw with a distance of 48-9.5 feet.

Other notables…

The 4×400 meter relay team took first with a time of 4:10.92.

Leah Brossoit placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 32-8.25 feet.

Rebecca Hare and Caitlin Fermoyle took second and third, respectively, in the 1 mile run with times of 5:22.33 and 5:27.17.

Sara Lundgren took third in the 200 meter dash in 27.71 and third in the long jump with a distance of 15-8.25 feet.

Natalie Ristau took third in the 1000 meter run in 3:21.13.

Four Gusties were the only competitors in the 3000 meter run as Hauer placed first in 10:58.67.

Erica Roelofs took third in the high jump, clearing a height of 4-7.75 feet.

Endreson placed third in the shot put with a throw of 36-9.75 feet.

Next up for the Gustie women’s squad is the CSB/SJU Quintangular on Saturday, Feb. 18. The first events begin at noon in Collegeville, Minn.
