Men's hockey remains ranked No. 15 according to the USCO.com Division III men's hockey poll

Despite splitting with Saint John’s last weekend, the Gustavus Adolphus men’s hockey team remains ranked No. 15 in this week’s USCHO.com Division III men’s hockey poll released Monday, Jan. 16.  It is the second-straight week that the Gusties received a top-15 ranking.

The Gusties were able to battle back down 3-0 to come away with a 4-3 victory over the Johnnies on Friday night in St. Cloud.  After trailing 3-0 halfway through the second period for the second-straight night on Saturday in St. Peter, the Gusties didn’t quite have enough magic left to make another three-goal comeback, falling 4-3 to allow Saint John’s a split.

Gustavus enters its by week with an overall record of 10-5-2 and an MIAC mark of 4-4-0.  The Gusties slipped to fourth in the MIAC standings with eight points.  St. Thomas is in first with 13 points, while Concordia and Bethel round out the top-three in second (10 pts.) and third (9 pts.), respectively.  St. Thomas moved up two spots from last week and is now ranked No. 12.

After their off weekend, the Gusties will return to the ice with a home series against Concordia on Jan. 27-28.  The Gusties and Cobbers will square off at 7:05 p.m. on Friday and 2:05 p.m. on Saturday.
