The Gustavus softball team dropped its first MIAC doubleheader of the season with 8-0 and 10-3 losses to St. Thomas on Thursday in St. Paul. Gustavus falls to 16-11-1 overall and 9-2-1 in the MIAC, while St. Thomas improves to 30-4 overall and 16-0 in the MIAC.
The Gustavus baseball team's MIAC doubleheader at Macalester scheduled for Wednesday, April 20 has been postponed due to wet field conditions and has been re-scheduled for Thursday, April 21 at 2:30 pm in St. Paul, Minn.
The Gustavus men's golf team posted a 54-hole total of 298-298-283--879 to finish second at its own Bobby Krig Invitational, which wrapped up with 36 holes at Le Sueur Country Club on Monday. Trevor Gervais led Gustavus individually as he finished fourth with a total of 72-75-70--217 (+5).
The Gustavus baseball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Division II MSU, Mankato in a single, nine-inning game played in St. Peter on Monday afternoon. Gustavus is now 5-14 on the season, while MSU, Mankato improves to 21-8.
The Gustavus baseball team got strong pitching performances from Cody Sukalski in game one and Kellan Eurele in game two, but could not get on track offensively and were swept by St. Thomasby the scores of 4-1 and 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The softball doubleheader between Gustavus and Saint Mary's set to be played on Tuesday, April 19 has been postponed due to weather. The makeup date is set for Sunday, May 1 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Peter, Minn.
Gustavus Adolphus senior pitcher Erin Truebenbach (Mapleton, Minn.) has been named MIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 with two complete-game performances against MIAC opponents St. Olaf and Carleton last week.
The Gustavus men's golf team fired a first round team total of 298 and is in a second place tie with UW-Eau Claire, just one stroke back of first place St. Olaf, which posted a score of 297. The Gusties were led individually by Alex Kolquist who is in a second place tie after recording a one-under total of 71.
The Gustavus women's golf team finished first at the St. Thomas Invitational on Sunday with an 18-hole total of 320. Individually, Katie Schenfeld finished first with a four-over par total of 76 and Taylor Drenttel finished second with a total of 77.
The Gustavus men's tennis team, which was rated #6 in the most recent ITA Central Region poll, lost to Kalamazoo College, which was rated #9 in the region by the score of 5-4 in Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon.
