Women’s Swimming & Diving Competes At Falcon Invite Posted on December 5th, 2010 by

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving competed at the two-day Falcon Invite held in the Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Friday and Saturday.  The Gusties recorded two relay wins, as Kelsey Lucia was the top individual performer with two top-three finishes.  No team scores were kept at the meet.

Lucia placed second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.07 and third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.44.  Carley Mosher added Gustavus’s only other top-three finish of the weekend by taking third in the 200 backstroke (2:13.44).  She also added a fourth place finish in the 100 backstroke.

Alissa Tinklenberg and Laura Drake also placed in the top-five.  Tinklenberg placed fourth in the 200 and 1650 freestyle and fifth in the 500 freestyle.  Drake finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke.

The Gustavus 200 free relay team was victorious with a time of 1:36.05, as was the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:34.04.  The 400 free relay placed third with a time of 3:36.61.

The Gustavus swimming and diving team will travel to Puerto Rico for a training trip beginning December 26 and return on January 2.
