Men’s Track and Field Performs Well At Meet Of The Unsaintly At Hamline Posted on May 5th, 2008 by

The Gustavus men’s track and field team was finally able to compete on a good weather day at the Meet of the Unsaintly at Hamline on Sunday afternoon. The team responded with some very good performances including Tyler Geyen winning the 110 hurdles with a season best time of 14.77 and Drew Hood winning the pole vault at a height of 15 feet, 5 inches.

In the running events, Dan Foley led the way as he finished second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:31.00. Right on Foley’s heels was Mark Hartman who finished fourth in a time of 16:00. In the sprints, Colby Citrowski posted a third place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 11.15 and Cole Carlson placed third in the 400 with a time of 49.62. The Gusties also did well in the relays as the 4×400 relay finished first with a time of 3:27.46 and the 4×100 relay placed second with a time of 43.76.

In the field events, Tyler Geyen and David Young turned in top four performances in the javelin, as Geyen placed third at 170 feet, and Young was fourth at 165-10.

The Gusties will take part in the MIAC Outdoor Championships this Friday and Saturday at Hamline University.
