Gustavus Adolphus College junior forward Mari Gunderson has been named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending November 19, 2007. Gunderson recored four goals and one assist to help the Gusties sweep Hamline in the MIAC opener.

In Friday night’s 10-1 win over Hamline, Gunderson recorded her fourth career hat trick in St. Paul, Minn. One of Gunderson’s three goals was a short-handed goal in the second period and another was a power play goal in the third period. On Saturday, Gunderson added another goal and an assist in the Gusties’ 5-1 win in St. Peter, Minn.

Gunderson, a sociology and anthropology double major, is the daughter of John and Patricia Gunderson of Shoreview, Minn. and a 2005 graduate of Mounds View High School.

The Gusties, who are currently rated #7 in the USCHO.com Division III poll, are currently 4-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the MIAC. Gustavus will resume MIAC play on Friday, November 30th as the team will begin a weekend series with St. Mary’s in Winona, Minn. at 7:00 pm.
