Emily Klein, a junior libero on the Gustavus Adolphus volleyball team, continues to etch her name in the Gustavus volleyball record books. The Red Wing, Minnesota native surpassed Tara Houlihan as the all-time digs leader at Gustavus with 1,320. The old mark held by Houlihan was 1,226 digs. Klein now owns every dig record in Gustavus history including the single-season record with 649 digs last season. She broke the single-match dig record September 12 against Augsburg with 48. The previous mark was 46 digs set by Klein last year against Saint Benedict. Klein was the Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference last year.

Gustavus is currently 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC. The Gusties will host the Gustavus Quadrangular this Saturday, (Sept. 22) with Hamline, Northwestern (MN), and Buena Vista. Emily is the daughter of Randy Klein and Gail Strusz-Klein of Red Wing, Minnesota.
