Margaret Dorer, a member of the Gustavus women’s hockey team, has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine At-Large Academic All-America Team. The women’s at-large program for Academic All-America® includes the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, golf, gymnastics, field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, tennis, and water polo. Dorer, a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, was a Second Team Academic All-America selection this year. A St. Paul, Minn. native, Dorer maintains a 3.85 grade point average with majors in scandinavian studies and psychology.

Dorer (Jr., St. Paul, Minn./St. Anthony Village) was a First Team All-America selection by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) in March. A two-time All-MIAC selection, Dorer ranked third on the team with 32 points on nine goals and 23 assists. She also ranked third in Division III in points by a defender, averaging 1.19 points per game, and tied for 30th in Division III among all players, regardless of position. Seven of Dorer’s nine goals were scored on the power play. Her 23 assists ranked second on the team behind Division III Player of the Year Andrea Peterson and her 0.85 assists per game ranked tied for 12th in Division III. Dorer is tied for tenth place on the Gustavus career points list with 87 and her 62 career assists are sixth in school history.
