Gustavus first-year forward Molly Doyle (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) has been named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Hockey Player of the Week. Doyle scored four goals and recorded 2 assists for 6 points to help the Gusties post a record of 2-1 against three nationally rated teams in River Falls, Wis. last weekend.

Doyle scored a key third period goal in the Gusties heartbreaking 4-3 overtime loss to #1 Middlebury on Friday. She added two goals and two assists as Gustavus beat #10 Williams 6-1 on Saturday. One of her two goals was a shorthanded goal that gave the Gusties a 3-0 lead in the second period. Doyle finished off her impressive weekend with one goal in the Gusties 6-4 win over #3 Wis.-Stevens Point. Her goal tied the game at 1-1 in the first period.

Doyle leads Gustavus in scoring with eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points. She also ranks 10th in Division III with an average 1.82 points per game. The Gusties are currently 9-1-1 overall and 6-0-0 in the MIAC.
