Gustavus Adolphus College senior wing Doug Espenson (Mankato, Minn./Mankato East HS) averaged 18.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as the Gusties claimed convincing wins over Hamline (91-60) and Concordia (80-57) last week. Espenson put on a shooting display in the two games as he made 13-of-21 field goal attempts (.619) and 7-of-12 three-point attempts (.583). Against Hamline, Espenson scored 17 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished off two assists, blocked one shot and recorded two steals. He was 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Against Concordia, Espenson scored 19 points, while also grabbing six rebounds and recording four assists, and two steals. He made 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from behind the arc. Espenson leads the Gusties in scoring averaging 20.4 points per game. Gustavus is currently 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC.
