The Gustavus men’s soccer team will travel to San Antonio, Texas to play a NCAA Tournament sectional match against Trinity University (Texas) on Friday, November 19 at the Blossom Athletic Center. The game is scheduled to begin 30 minutes following the other sectional match between St. Norbert (Wis.) and UC-Santa Cruz, which is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.

The ticket prices will be $6 for adults, $3 for students (with ID) and senior citizens (55 and older), and $2 for children (ages 5-12). Children under two will be admitted free. Tickets will go on sale at 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, while Saturday’s tickets will go on sale at 5:30 p.m.

Gustavus advanced on a penalty-kick shootout against UW-Whitewater last Saturday in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties and Warhawks were tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation and neither team was able to manufacture a goal in the two-ten minute overtime periods. The first four kickers for each team converted their kicks with the fifth shooter for the Warhawks hitting the outside post. Senior Jonathan Astry fired his kick into the back of the net to send the Gusties through to the next round. Trinity, the 2003 NCAA Division III Champions, advanced by defeating Texas-Dallas 2-0 on Saturday in San Antonio, Texas.

The winners of each sectional match will advance to a quarterfinal match of the national tournament that will be played on Saturday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Blossom Athletic Center. The sectional winner will advance to the semifinals of the national tournament to be played Friday, November 26 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
